Senior DevOps Engineer – New York Office
Capitolis is seeking a self-driven, experienced, and curious Senior DevOps Engineer to join our New York office full-time. This is a unique opportunity to take on a lead DevOps role locally, working in close partnership with local engineering staff as well as Engineering and Operations teams across our three geographies: London, Tel Aviv, and New York. You’ll collaborate with our global team to shape and drive DevOps practices, contributing to the development of cutting-edge financial infrastructure in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead DevOps efforts in the New York office, acting as the local expert and point of contact.
- Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams across London, Tel Aviv, and New York to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
- Enhance business continuity and resilience of production systems in the financial sector.
- Design, implement, and deploy infrastructure changes with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability.
- Support a zero-data-loss, exactly-once transaction processing system.
- Build and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management tools.
- Orchestrate containerized microservices using Kubernetes and related technologies.
- Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Maintain and evolve our DevOps technology stack: AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, Python, ELK, and more.
Who You Are
- Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively across distributed teams and time zones.
- 12 years of industry experience in R&D, QA, or IT roles.
- 8 years of hands-on DevOps experience, including production-grade systems.
- Strong background in business continuity and disaster recovery for critical systems.
- Experience delivering and communicating complex DevOps solutions to stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with corporate information security practices.
- Solid understanding of networking and cloud infrastructure.
- Proficient with CI tools and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Skilled in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Groovy, etc.).
- Experienced with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
- Linux system administration experience required; Windows experience is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL on AWS RDS.
- Familiarity with Helm Charts, ArgoCD, and CI/CD integrations with SCM tools.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Database administration and troubleshooting expertise.
- Knowledge of database security best practices.
The target annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 – $170,000 and is dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills. In addition to base salary, the compensation package for this role includes an annual discretionary bonus and company equity. This role is also eligible to participate in company-sponsored benefits and perks.
