Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of software developers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of Capitolis’ Capital Marketplace products
- Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other Team Leaders to plan, nurture, and implement an efficient and effective development process
- Architect high quality, efficient and reusable back-end systems
- Lead the front end side of the product, work with designer and give feedback on the product design and usability
- Mentor team members in the technical aspects of their work
- Empower and coach the Development team, organizing their work, setting goals, and making sure they are engaged
- Recruit talented developers to Capitolis
- See the big picture of group tasks and make decisions
- Be at least an 80% hands-on developer as part of the team
- Influence the Engineering team by interacting with stakeholders outside the team
- Proven ability to work autonomously and drive tasks forward
Requirements
- Extensive expertise in the Capital Markets domain, including derivatives, securities, order management systems, and portfolio management systems.
- 5+ years of experience in Java server-side development.
- Proficient with the following technologies: Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL
- AWS cloud services
- Microservices
- 2+ years leading software development teams (3-6 developers)
- Experience with web development stack, preferably react and Node.js
- Strong knowledge of software design and a passion for creating high-standard code
- Experience in building complex, large-scale software solutions from scratch to live production
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and drive people
- Strong analytical skills
- Self-starter, fast learner, can-do attitude with strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent English communication skills – both spoken and written
- B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, SW Engineering or equivalent (M.Sc. is an advantage)
The target annual base salary range for this position is $220,000 – $230,000 and is dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills. In addition to base salary, the compensation package for this role includes an annual discretionary bonus and company equity. This role is also eligible to participate in company-sponsored benefits and perks.
