Senior QA Engineer
Mixtiles
Own quality in the real world.
Who we are
At Mixtiles, we build smart physical products that feel magical - and just work. With easyplant, we’ve created a self-watering, sensor-powered plant system that’s helping people care for millions of plants around the world.
But real-world magic is hard. Our systems span hardware, firmware, mobile apps, manufacturing, and customer behavior and they need to work together seamlessly, everywhere.
That’s where you come in.
What you’ll actually do
You’ll be the guardian of quality for everything we ship - from sensor devices and iOS/Android apps to firmware updates and factory workflows. You’ll catch issues before they reach customers, help debug the weird ones that slip through, and make sure every release feels solid, stable, and intentional.
- Own QA across the stack: hardware, firmware, mobile, backend, and more
- Run ongoing manual testing for new features, regressions, edge cases, and field behavior
- Investigate and reproduce tricky bugs; open clear reports and push for resolution
- Act as the first line of technical escalation for Customer Service - dig deep and get answers
- Use internal tools (logs, metrics, dashboards, admin panels) to debug quickly and smartly
- Lead our Pioneers program: an internal beta group that helps us test in the wild
- Translate findings into clear, actionable insights for Product, Engineering, and Ops
- Occasionally support vendor QA, manufacturing validation, and release readiness
- Join customer calls when needed to unblock investigations and represent the team
Who you are
You’re a high-energy, high-ownership problem solver who thrives in fast-moving, messy, real-world systems. You don’t wait for perfect tools - you make things work and get to the root of issues.
- You care deeply about quality and user experience
- You have strong technical and analytical instincts, even if you’re not writing code
- You’re clear, direct, and collaborative in communication (especially in English)
- You’re organized, autonomous, and love digging into complexity
- You adapt fast and aren’t afraid of dirty work if it moves the product forward
Nice to have
- Experience testing IoT or connected devices
- Familiarity with debugging and observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Sentry, etc.)
- Worked with manufacturing QA or overseas vendors
- Ran or supported beta/field testing programs
- Bonus for basic scripting or automation instincts (even if this is mostly manual work)
Why is this role special
- You’ll touch every part of the system, and work with every team
- You’ll be the person we turn to when something breaks in the wild
- You’ll make sure every release earns user trust
- You’ll turn chaos into clarity, and help build products that just work
If you’re obsessed with quality, love a good mystery, and want to own the glue between teams, we’d love to meet you.
